Each Bulk Box contains 6 Perflex® shrink bagged roasts. Approximately 2-2.5 lbs. each roast, the whole box comes to approx. 12 lbs.
The tri-tip steak is a triangular cut from the bottom sirloin cut of the cow, consisting of the tensor fasciae latae muscle. It is also known as Newport steak, Santa Maria steak, and triangle steak. It is delicious when seasoned with salt, basted in garlic butter, and cooked medium rare. It is also commonly enjoyed roasted and dressed with herbs and spices.
Before cooking, ensure that you take your beef out and let it come to room temperature. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Place the seasoned roast on a roasting pan with a rack, fat side up. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the roast, making sure it's not touching bone. Roast the porterhouse in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes per pound (450 grams) for medium-rare doneness. Check the internal temperature using the meat thermometer. For medium-rare, it should read around 135-140°F.
